Hi. My girlfriend is bulimic but denies it, and im at a lost at how to support her/help her out. Five months ago she stopped throwing up and had been doing good ever since. But up until a few weeks ago when she started her negative body image moods again i offered help, but in doing so made her worse and she is back tp purging. I'm really stressed out and scared and i don't know the best course of action to be supportive, anyone?

The sad fact about people with eating disorders is that no matter what you tell them, they will still have low self-esteem. What you can do when she starts insulting herself is to tell her what you find attractive about her--and it doesn't have to be a superficial feature, compliment her personality by being specific--give a quality and what she did to show that to you. Tell her you care about her, and don't mention weight, or what she's eating, ever. Even what a normal person would consider a compliment, like, "You look healthy" can be morphed into "You look fat" by someone with an eating disorder. Send her the message that her self-worth isn't determined by her weight. You can tell her parents you're worried, but unfortunately, someone can't recover from an eating disorder until they are ready.
Here's a helpful website on eating disorders (so you can educate yourself about them), and here's the specific page for how you can deal with a loved one suffering from one: http://somethingfishy.org/helping/whatyoucando.php
I hope your girlfriend gets better.

She will only get better with professional help! You cannot save her. She has to have professional help. She also has to want o get better, and get help. No one can force her. She has to "want" it or it won't help.

please tell someone, like her parents. If you love her, you'll help her. Good luck.
