I'm about to buy it...my mom really needs something to help her. The tears of the woman on that commercial were not fake.

I just saw the informerical a few minutes ago....This makes it a total of 3 times.
If you're savvy enough, you can figure out how it's done as she practically GIVES the method away when she's trying to describe to you how it works... Hate to toot my own horn, but I think I cracked it....not fully though....I'll explain:
Static contractions (or what she would like you to call it "diametric resistance" *ha*...I may be wrong, but I believe the correct, GIMMICK-FREE TECHNICAL term is ISOmetric contractions) is contracting one muscle and using that contraction as resistance for the other muscle. An ideal example would be a body part in which one muscle is parallel to the other, like a bicep is to a tricep. The resistance is solely dependent on YOUR strength, not a weight, which I think is kind of cool...primarily because it caters to just about any fitness level.
One example to try: Stand out with....actually you don't even HAVE to stand for this one....Have your arms bent (like an "L")and sticking out to each side (almost like a "T") Now flex your pec muscle BUT....JUST about when your arms are about to move, recruit your back muscles....Both muscles are now at work and you're not even moving. How about that!!! Any time you feel your arms moving forward, flex your back muscles harder...and vice versa.
If it's held in place long enough and done properly, you can actually feel your muscles flutter slightly and your face flush just a little and pulse quicken a little bit. Not sure about how long the rep should be...I tried it and feel 30 sec. or so at a time is ok...
Now, since your arms are still out and bent, unbend them a little and try doing the same thing for your bicep/tricep. Flex your bicep and use the force of your flexed tricep to hold your bicep back in place. There it is. Static contraction.
The drawback though is you do need a certain degree of coordination....AND you need to CONCENTRATE (you're going to have to watch your soaps some other time). When you REALLY CONCENTRATE on flexing the muscle, using ALL of your force, I believe that's where the results lie.
If you have difficulty with coordinating yourself properly, you might want to try one arm at a time.
Now what I HAVEN'T figured out is the timing, duration or if there's any special sort of breathing you have to do (That lady's other program "Body Flex" had some EMBARASSING breathing exercises!!) I have no idea how she wants you to work your butt region, either....
As far as your abs, you can take a deep breath...and exhale with your lips together...Exactly as if you were breathing out through a drinking straw. And as you exhale, flex your abs REALLY hard and as you flex them, draw them inward (towards your spine). Concentrate on using every ab muscle (even the side ones). Your abdomen should look "scooped out" when you're finished (partly cause you're out of air *lol*) You might even get a little head rush from doing it enough times in a row *lol* That move alone has helped me fit into a smaller size pant.
Bottom line: I think there really is something to it....Try the exercises I suggested, if you like them then this
"Shapely Secret" would probably be a good idea for you to try.
If you buy them from the infomercial though, the operator is going to try to sign you up for a ton of extra crap you probably won't need but will try to convince you "THIS is just what you need to make your results EVEN BETTER" *lol*
But for a program like this, in all honesty, I think it would serve mankind much better if it were used as physical therapy to rehabilitate and restore functional strength and coordination to injured and sick people or for house-bound morbidly obese people (instead of being marketed as a magic fix for fat lazies)....Seriously....
