I had a baby then breastfed exclusively, therefore I went 22 months without a period! I finally had a period a little over a month ago (not that I missed it), and I went into the OB to get some birth control. The doctor said I was due to have another one "next Monday" (that would be last Monday the 14th). Here it is four days later and I have yet to even feel a cramp. Since my husband and I weren't using protection until now, I'm wondering if I'm pregnant...So is it normal to have uneven cycles now? Does it take time to get back to normal? The midwife said that I should be all back to normal now since I always regular like a clock! Is this normal that I'm a week late with no signs of a cycle comin anytime soon?

No, if you just stopped breast feeding you won't go right back to NORMAL. It will take some time as it does with every woman. I had my son and I was like clockwork before pregnancy and now here is it 10 months after I stopped breast feeding and I am still not regular! It could take 2 yrs to become NORMAL again if ever.

I think it is normal to go like that. I done the same as you. Sometimes I had a period and then sometimes I didn't.
Not having one once you get back into having them can be very alarming. I was always afraid I was pregnant again too but it was usually a false alarm. I still am not regular. Sometimes I go through the bodily feelings as if I am about to start but then I never do.
You may straighten out within the next few months but then again you may find that having a period only 5 or 6 times a year becomes normal for you.

Best bet if your worried is talk to a doctor.

They should have given you a pregnancy test before giving you birth control. I would take one just to be sure. Even when you brestfeed you can get pregnant. Most times once you et your first perios again it will regulate with in the next month.

You can be unregular for awhile. After i had my son my periods changed all the time tell i think he was three months old and then they became reuglar. if you are under stress then that may be a reson why your periods have stopped.
