do dogs get larger and stronger when they go through puberty??

I don't know if it's called puberty in dogs, but they grow out of puppy hood and into adolescence and beyond. They will be full-grown and yet still be quite young. When a female dog has her firtst "heat", she is done growing, so she has already gone through "puberty", so I guess the answer is yes.

After about 10-18 months they stop growing in size, but some dogs (such as shepards, labs, pitbulls, rotties and other work breeds) tend to get stronger with a lot more muscle being built.

most animals get larger and stronger after they go thru puberty. Esp males.

Yes and they also are much like teenagers. For some breeds this is the time you really need to crack down on them and show them that you're the "alpha dog".

dunno if it should be called puberty, but yeah...when dogs are growing, they get bigger and yes, stronger. that is the sign of a healthy animal.
