There are lots of homeless, unwanted puppies in the shelter.
Go to your local Humane Society or to your local SPCA.
:) Save a little dog's life...and you will have a really good feeling inside.

Free puppies aren't usually free. Most don't have shots and aren't fixed so they come with that expense and then there is a vet check upon getting them to make sure they are ok. Some breeds require lots of training and that can be expensive. So I agree with the others there is no such thing as a free puppy. No you may not be paying someone for the puppy but you will be paying someone to make sure it is ok and then you add up all the food costs and flea stuff and heartguard and it all starts adding up.
Try the local animal shelter or dog pound. I know here the dog pound charges $45 for adopting a fixed dog. The shelters charge a little more but some dogs are sponsored and so they lower the adoption fee for those sometimes. But if you really want a "free puppy" check the classifieds, see if the local freecycle group allows for postings of pets for adoption. Some people have dogs for adoption for $25-50 and drop that for the right home. Just don't fall for the Free Dogs that aren't really free, you email them and they say they are in another country and ask for shipping money and it ends up costing a lot of money. Check Petfinder, Freecycle and Craigslist and see what you come up with. Also look at your local classifieds in the paper and the areas around you might have classifieds online. Good luck. I just got lucky today and thanks to someone on Craigslist I may be getting a new doggie Sunday :-)

The reason that people sell dogs for even a small fee is because if you don't have money for a dog you prolly won't have money to pay for food, vet bills, toys, leads, crates, puppy training, etc.
You can prolly get a dog for under $100 at the pound, but remember that you will still have to pay for shots and to get it fixed ($300+), microchipping and licence ($30), toys, food, grooming objects, leashes, treats, etc (easily 300+)
Make sure you have the money to buy a dog before you commit to it. A puppy, in its first year can cost an easy two grand simply because it is growing and needs to get all of its base shots and surgeries.
If you can't afford a dog right now, try volunteering at the local pound... they always need volunteers!

Contact the local Spca, call the local dog cather or a vet. they can all tell you where the adoption shelters are. You usually have to pay something for the dog maybe 25-50 for shots and having it altered. If you really want free look in the news paper.

If you go to an animal shelter, you can usually get a cheap dog. Around here, the shelter sometimes has a free adoption day or if you adopt a pet they pay for the animal to get foxed. That is where I would start if I were you.

To get a cheap puppy you need to go to an animal shelter, but the problem is, you may have to wait until a "small" puppy like the one you hope for comes in.

If you can't afford a puppy, how will you afford vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention, heartworm prevention, high quality food, toys, bedding, treats, yearly vet visits, and other supplies?
Just a thought. There is no such thing as a "free" puppy.

www.petfinder.com
it lists all your local shelter's/rescues.
please go to one of these places, they have puppies, full breed's, whatever you are looking for, and you help save a life.
most have a small adoption fee to help pay for vaccinations/spay/neuter/microchipping ect, before you get the dog!!! Isnt that awesome?!
Good luck on your search:)
Btw, most of these places require a whole adoption process, be prepared to wait for one....we need to make sure we find forever homes for them, so they wont have to stray again:(

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to your neighborhood shelter and adopt a pupy!! You can find pure breeds and pretty much any kind of dog that is very much in need of a good home! It kills me to think of how much a pet store will charge for a puppy when hundreds of them are being put down just because there isn't a home available for them!! Believe me, they will love you for it. I think an animal knows when a person chooses them and saves thier life! You will be rewarded for your kindness.
