Male ducks, mallards and peking( that's what your's most likely is
1/2 mallard and 1/2 peking) all get a little curly 'tail'. A few feathers on their rear that curl. The females don't have them.
I have a mixed duck that I rescued from a local pond. I named him peep-peep. His best friend in the whole world is another male duck named Musky. Peep-Peep has a special interest in female Canadian geese! He doesn't realize that he's a bit small for them!
He LOVES it when I give him night crawlers! (worms for fishing).
He sucks them down like spaghetti! Poor little beasties.
Ducks make great pets, just be sure you feed him waterfowl food and always have fresh water for him to swim or drink. Waterfowl need more water than other animals because they have to regulate the fat in their systems.

Let me tell you something here, ONLY A FEMALE DUCK QUACKS. MALES WHISPER THEIR QUACKS. So if your duck sounds like a whisper quack, then it's a BOY. But if it quacks loud and clear it's a GIRL. And I don't care What breed the duck is or what anyone else says, this is a TRUE KNOWN FACT!

what you need to do is turn your duck on its back, then you would put two fingers near it back passage then push, if a long thing pops up that might look like a penis then it is a male, if not it will then of course be a female. this is the same way you would tell a sex a rabbit.

If you don't want to wait, you can have DNA testing done using a feather or blood sample. There are several places on the net that you can find that do this. DNA testing usually costs $20 and up.
