Well, I guess some could work. But the problem with online relationships is that you never know what the other person is like in real life. You can't tell who they really are. There are a lot of people who lie online. I should know, I have had online relationships before, but they don't really work out for me at least.

I haven`t seen any online relationships that worked out, although I`ve only seen three... two of which ended, and one of them is in progress. I think being in a relationship with someone over the internet is really hard because of a lot of reasons.
1) You two can`t be physical. And that doesn`t have to mean sex. Just simple things like holding hands, kissing, hugging, cuddling, etc. You can`t do those things.
2) If they talk to other girls on the internet, and if you have a tendency to get jealous pretty easily, you`ll probably get jealous of every girl they talk to.
3) If you two don`t talk on the phone, you don`t even know what their voice sounds like. You don`t know what their laugh sounds like.
4) If they fail to get on the internet [say it gets cut off, etc.], what do you do? You sit and wait for them to get online.
5) Major time zone difference? Hard to be online at the same time. Someone ends up staying up way too late.
It`s hard. But I think if you`re really dedicated and want the relationship, it could work.

This is a somewhat difficult question to answer, so I'll try to keep it simple. Yes. Some work. How well is in maintained in the hands of those involved in the relationship. How good that relationship is would be up to you. What makes it good is how much you feel that you can trust that person. A "good" relationship requires cooperation and, and should be founded upon trust. If you are not ready to trust that person, you should probably avoid having a relationship with them.

well yes and no. first off u must know the person well and u must be willin to put time into the relationship. and right off the back there's alot of trust needed for the relationship to work. since ur not in the same place u got to have the control to stay true to ur partner even if they are not there. and thats goes for them to and u must be open with each other. my opionion is that they work my sister got married off a online relationship they met and talked for awhile and they have been married for 5 years. thats enough proof for me that they work

well you see,it really depends on you if u want to make it work.
for about 3 years i dated this kid online.i knew he was honest.then my computer broke down and by the time i remembered my password to aol it was 2 years.then a couple of months after that we both found each other agin n he had a girlfriend!!!!
so i waited 2 years for him,and he got another girlfriend, who by the way is waaaaaaay uglier than anything i have ever saw(and im not conceited)
so in my experiance,no,online relationships do NOT work

it is far to easy for one to misrepresent themselves on line, they say that 70 percent of our communication is non verbal so a whole lot is missing when you are not face to face, i think that you must just take everything with a grain of salt and try not to get your hopes up too high
