Did you See the recent new story about the guy who was claiming he couldn't walk and was filmed running a marathon?

How many more supposed 'disabled' people are pulling this scam?

The number of disabled parking spaces seems to grow everyday.

Next time I see someone with crutches I going kick them out and see if they run off, who will join me?

It is hard to know who is cheating and who is idling. I do think that fraud isn't all that widely spread. Most disabled people I know are really in trouble, some can hardly take care of themselves. Still others must have carers for the least little things.

You could be on disability for your sheer stupidity

In answer to your first question - NO
second question - if it was true then i doubt many other people are pulling this scam, most people cannot run marathons, so those that can and have a an urge to claim they cant walk would be in the minority

thirdly the number of car spaces in general are growing, thus correspondingly......

not me,

I agree it was a shock that this man could do that. However do you want a disabled sticker for your car for stupidity. Can you imagine what it is like to be truly disabled, no legs, no arms etc etc. I don't think so and I hope you never find out. By the way how many able people are on welfare that don't need to be

The real scroungers are the DWP for harrassing benefit claimants. If I saw John Hutton (the work and pensions secretary) in the street I'd certainly give him a good kicking.

Er, you're alright there...I'll carry on watching the tennis in Oz.

There should be far more done to stop benefit cheats. There should be a culture of naming and shaming (with rewards for the whistle-blowers). The considerable amounts available to the disabled shouldn't be cut back though as they're crucial for the intended people.

With re. to disability fraud, why is it so easy to claim? Shouldn't you need doctor's notes and so forth?

I have no problem with closer spaces for people who can't walk very far. I do have a problem with what constitutes a disability. If you are extremely obese, you can get a handicap plate. Doesn't it make sense that if you are obese, you should have to park the farthest from the door, not the closest?

your suggestion is cruel. i have a sensory impairment and someone knocked me to the ground, my special glasses fell off and i couldnt see to get back up. im not on disability. i dont qualify. as for people who abuse the system, well, one only has to look at the government and see how much fraud and greed exists there. it all starts at the top.
