First off, I don't know why girls become Bi or Lesbians, but she's still your cousin, your family. Does sexual orientation really have to be that important? There's no sense in not being close to her just becomes she likes girls. The way I look at it, love is love, no matter what. I don't care for ppl to like others of the same sex, and I'll have you know I'm straight, but I don't see a problem with having a friend who likes girls. Your cousin is close to you as well, or else she never would have told you. She put her trust in you and wanted to be accepted. If you, her closest friend and cousin, won't accept her, don't you think that would make her feel awful? I'm sorry if I sound rude, but I think you should think things through, and really think. You liked her before you knew she was Bi, but as soon as you find out, you shy away? That just doesn't make sense to me. I'm sure it may have surprised you a bit, but really, there's no real need to lose someone you were really close to because she was Bi.

Some women become Bi or Les to try something different or they for some reason was turned on by the same sex. Sometimes it is just a phase. If that is how your cousin wants to live her life you have to respect that, but at the same time you much let her know that she has to respect the fact that you are not interested in joining that phase in her life. You can still be friends and do cousin stuff, but let her know you are not interested in getting to know that other life style because you don't roll like that.

She can still be your friend. Why does this change anything? As long as she respects that you're not into it, (obviously), it can't possibly matter. Just make it clear that you're not interested and let it go. And after all, it may just be an experimental phase that many people go through. This is so not a big deal, but if she keeps pushing it, tell her to piss off.

I don`t believe that people "turn" bi or lesbian or gay. I just think they`re born that way. You don`t have to agree with me, that`s just my opinion. Although, I don`t really think people can be bisexual, but that`s a different topic.
If you two were really as close as you say you were, she probably told you because she trusted you and thought you would accept her. Also, if you two were as close as you say, you should`ve accepted her. Yes, her asking you to go on a date with one of her lesbian friends was a little too far, but you could`ve just explained that you were completely straight and uninterested and I`m sure she would`ve dropped it.
I just think that family members should be there more for the homosexual people in their family. It`s hard enough being gay, it makes it even worse when your family hates you for it.

Most are just tired of our{mens} crap. They think that other women can give them the emotional stuff they didn't get from their boyfriends/husbands. A small percentage of lesbians really are attracted to women only, but definitely not all.
