Is there a direct flight from LAX to Rome without stopping on the east coast? Good luck finding that.
If so, the flight time would be approx 13 hours flight time to Rome...add another 90 min, for the flight back due to the jet stream.

direct flight is probably 11-13 hours, depends on the wind that day. It takes longer flying home to LA though, you're flying against the wind flying west.
