In school, I'm completely distracted easily. I can't concentrate on anything and I'm eather in a really good mood or a really bad mood. I used to get all 90's and now I'm getting 70's and 80's. Is it maybe teen ADD? I'm usually a little stressed with my music but I always have been. By the way, I'm in 10th grade.

Okay weedman,
I've had an extremely busy life since 6th grade! I'm not just one of those kids who comes from school and watches TV. Nothing buggs me more than when people think I don't have a life. By the way, 10th grade math isn't hard for me.

Don't worry, at one time or another, everyone is in that state. Just get used to it. There is nothing else you can do. This is probably stressed from school. The only way to get rid of it is to relax on a nice vacation from school of about a week with no work. This can be done during Christmas, March Break or Summer Vacation. After a long break from school, it should be gone and you sdhould be almost back to normal.
P.S. Grade 10 Math is HARD!
P.P.S You Were getting 90s! Maybe it was just because you had no life and now you do. Just saying.

You sound just like be, I am 15 and I'm in grade 9, and I feel the same way too. Like the teacher will be talking about something and I just can't concentrate on the what he/she is saying even if I really try to. I just start thinking of other things. I would suggest talking to your parents or maybe even ask a teacher about this. I actually think I am like that because I might have OCD, but I'm not sure yet. You should ask your doctor about it too!

You could have bi-polar, but your in 10th grade. High school can be a very stressful time. Try talking with your teachers, see the school guidance counselor, and maybe you could get together with some friends to study.
Best of luck. And know you will get through this- I did : )

Hey...your not alone. Im in 10th grade too...and im having a bit of trouble myslef..boys,friends, anything distracts me from my work. I think the best thing to do though is to just think to yourslef what you were doing before that let you get such good grades. I think i myself should listen more to the people who are teaching and only listen to those around me if they are willing to help me with my work. I dont think you have teen ADD....everyone has their moods wether theyre good or bad. It will past...just focus. Good luck buddy!

You are a teenager. You are going to get distracted easy with your hormones raging the way they are. When you study, try to find a nice quiet place and do not have anything else to do. Sounds like you need to work on creating a better studying environment for yourself. Once you do that you will be able to create better environments for other things as well. See how it works.

Maybe you have too much on your plate. Try cutting out one of your extra-curricular activities and focus more on your grades if that is really important to you.
Otherwise, ask your parents to set you up with a consultation with your doctor.
You don't have ADD... If you did, you probably would have seen it as a kid. It just sounds like to me that you have way too much going on; plus, the stressors of growing up seems to be getting to you.

Or it simply could be that you are overworking yourself and that you need to set your priorities and start small goals and slowly make them bigger as you gain confidence. Keep your room clean and your bed made. Teeth brushed, body clean, and hair combed. Neatness and cleanliness always helps me gain confidence. Always a clean environment. Doing some deed for someone and making yourself feel good is always helpful. Vacuuming the house? Dusting something maybe? Unloading the dishwasher? Some small thing to make someone's life easier makes me feel good!

kind of sounds like bipolar, but if i were you i would do a search on ADD, ADHD and bipolar. you have to also remember the psychologist do not usually diagnose people under 18 with mental disorders. but if it is really stressing you out and it interferes wtih your daily life, like you cant do anything, then i would suggest you go talk to a psychologist and see what he says. one place you can look up disorders is the DSM-IV-TR. it is the manual of mental disorders. you can find it in the library in the reference section. it will help out a lot!!

There's no such thing as teen ADD... it's just ADD. Sounds like you could have it, but ADD doesn't make you have mood swings, that's like bipolar. Bipolar people have extreme moodswings and another name for it is chronic depression. Go to your school counselor and he/she should be able to give you a test or tell you the name of a good doctor to go to.

I think you might have ADD and maybe a bipolar disorder, make a doctor's appointment and get a refferal to a psychologist to help you with your problems and to maximize your potential in school.
