If you're an audio learner (listening), check out a Spanish cassette or CD to learn the language. Most libraries have quite a few languages to choose from.

If you're more of a visual learner (reading), go with a book. Luckily the Spanish TV channel 'univision' is offered on most cable bands, possibly out in Minnesota too. You can check on that and if it exists by you, you can get a handle of how Spanish is pronounced from that.

Virtually all colleges, both 2-year and 4-year, offer beginning Spanish courses or "Speed Spanish" quick courses to learn the language as well.

How about learning Spanish on-line?

I know a website that offers a wonderful on-line Lanaguage learning program. This program contains comprehensive Spanish and English lessons from pronounciation, conversation, to sophisticated Business Presentation. There are lessons for novice learner for Mandarin, Russian, and Latvian as well. French and Japanese to come. There are interactive audio lessons and tests to help you learn Spanish progressively. This website does charge a very minimal cost. It's all worth it. The website is: http://www.learningwell.en101.com Press the enroll tab to enroll.

you might be able to find some people that speak spanish and you both or a group of you can meet in yahoo messenger an open open a yahoo chat room and ask what you want to say and they can teach you, thus you will be able to hear the way to pronounce the word, and you would be able to to pronounce the word and they will be able to tell you if you pronounced the word proper. You would also be able to control who enters your chat room only given permission to the people you request and also you can leave an open a new one if someone abuses their chat previleges..try to learn the ABC's in spanish...first.. to get a grasp of the sounds of each letter.... then practive with numbers from 1 to 10, then 1 through 20.

There might be a Berlitz school around you, see if you can get into one of those. If not, try signing up for a class at a local community college. Go to Berlitz.com for more.
