When you clean up the spot, use a really strong smelling cleaner that will cover up her smell...like pine sol. Maybe she will stop smelling herself there and stop doing it.

I have heard that if you rub the Dogs nose in the "marking" that it will immediately cause the animal to stop marking on the rug. You could also just get rid of the rug. It may contain a smell that excites the dog. I have been around dogs that get excited about something and just "go". Hope I could help!

At this late point, meaning; continuous marking in one place, I would throw the rug away, it is saturated! If it is wall to wall carpet, just SOAK the area in "oxyclean" washing detergent booster, let dry, fence the area off from her, get a pet pen or make one. After the area drys, soak it again but in vinegar, let that dry with the pen around it. If she still marks it, put her in the pen and only let her loose in the house when you can observe her. A "doggie door" would be a great advantage, with the pen on the inside until she learns. Good luck

Go to the next pet store or Wal Mart has it as well and buy one of those spray bottles to take away the smell. I cannot remember the name right now but I'm sure someone that works there can get you the right one. She probably always marks that spot because she smells her hormones there. Is she "fixed"? If you do not want to breed her you might want to consider that. Dogs tend to live longer when they are "fixed" as well.

Go to the pet store and buy a spray that you put on the rug( NO GO Repellant). Clean the rug first. That should keep her from "marking". GOOD LUCK!!!

My past experience has been to put cayeene pepper on the spot and they will stop going there. If they find a new spot then put the pepper there as well. They will soon get the message. If not then, keep the pet outside, except on extremehot or cold weather.

Clean the spot really good and then spray it with one of the anti-marking sprays you can get at the local pet store.
It worked for my dogs and it also got the neighbors cat to stop using the beds leading up to my front door as it's potty.

Does the dog try to stop you from being human? Let the dog be a dog. If you don't like it, you shouldn't keep that beautiful creature of gaia captive in your house!
Nah, I'm kidding. Beat that ***** with a newspaper when she does that.
And now, 50 people will yell at me for telling you to be "cruel" to an animal...

she's marking to show she is dominant.
buy natures miracle to remove the odor, it contains no ammonia (sp?), and wont go in the same spot because of that.
Correct her when she does this, esp. if she has been trained to go outside, she is "marking" her territory indoors for some reason...new dog, cat, person, in the house?
If not, like I said, she is dominating the house, and needs to be corrected gently to show her her rank in the house again:)
Oh, now I read it. A new house, she's attempting to be the Alpha or "leader" and needs to be corrected immediately by you.

Clean it up best you can then spray vinegar on the carpet. Most dogs wont even walk on a carpet that has vinegar on it let alone mark it. Remember to use clear vinegar the red will stain your carpet.
