When you become sick, your immune system kicks into a sort of overdrive. Your body's main priority becomes to produce enough white cells to combat whatever infection, virus, disease, etc., is trying to reproduce inside of you. This is what causes fevers. This is also why you won't have the strength to make outside trips. Your body is using so much energy attempting to restore your immune system that any extraneous energy use will overstress your body.
