The best way to treat bi-polar is to stay on your medications and go to therapy to work out your problems.
I cannot ephasize enough to stay on the medications

There are lots of ways to treat bi polar. Therapy, meds. It is something you have to deal with the rest of your life it doesn't go away. I like depakote to control the swings it doesn't make me sick like lithium did, and doesn't make me feel lazy or out of it. Talk to a doctor they can help you figure out what is best for you.

Find a doctor who knows about food or chemical allergies. They're called doctors of environmental medicine - (MD or DO) I don't know how many allergists believe there are food allergies now, but this could be the cause of the differences in your moods. I think Lithium is what is used to level out the highs and lows of bipolar disorder, but wouldn't it be great to get rid of the cause, by learning what's causing the problem? I was grateful to find out what was causing my problems with mood swings. Maybe it can work for you. Good luck!

There is no cure for bi-polar or also commonly known as manic depression, but it can be controlled quite successfully with medication. If you suspect that you may have bi-polar then you should seek help. Hope this helped a little.. :)

Group counseling will help you discover your own personal symptoms, and learn how to cope and still live a normal life.
There is no known cure but it can be treated with medical monitoring from a psychiatrist, and the meds really do help, in my case.

First, the person has to want to get better. Then, weekly therapy with a Therapist...and weekly group therapy may also be needed. Most definitely medication; but therapy is very important for people with BPD.
