ok i have a HUGE problem! Seriously please take the time to read this!

My friend made a website for our schools theatre group. Most of the Blogs and things were not allowed to go on at school are blocked. However for some reason the site he made wasn't blocked. So i went on and commented it from Info Tech Class...I got this crazy comment back from someone saying they were a PSD Administrator (school district administrator)...just read it and tell me if you think it's Real or a Joke! Seriously i'm really freaked out!!! Please help!!

______, this has broken the Parkland AUP. Your info-teacher will talk to you Monday and your account will be suspended.

The actual site itself isn't For the school..it's just for the kids involved in theatre at it. My Friend Made the site in school and during school hours and hasn't heard a thing?

I don't see why it would be a joke. If the blogs were supossed to be restricted and for some reason weren't than you probably just simply made a mistake. If you are honest, that is the best thing you can do. The other best thing you can do is to just learn from your mistake and not do it again! Good luck!

You need to read the AUP. Does it mention posting on websites/blogs etc? If it does, you did break the AUP.

The really bad news is that these are usually so open-ended that you can get your account suspended for just about anything that doesn't deal with school.

The Parkland AUP is the Acceptable Use Policy you and/or your parents had to sign, agreeing to use the internet in an appopriate manner.

If you broke policy, then you might have to face consequences. However, this could be a joke.

Sorry, but no, it's not a joke. They are very serious and you should learn that blogging and commenting is really a bad idea at school because not only can you get caught, but teachers can check the history of all the computers.

I used to work in a public school IT department and it looks like it could be legit to me. Network admins can intercept any traffic to any site and tell who it came from. Don't go to a site, send and email, or post anything from school you don't want the IT dept to see (cause they can.)

it doesnt seem as if youd be in any trouble if you were on a site for the school's group, just explain it to them when they talk to you. and if they dont listen, bring a linux boot disc in on tuesday and format C: from it! rebell

So your account will be suspended. Big woop. It's not like they can haul you off to JDC or anything. It's no big deal.
