i saw this guy i used to date at a party recently. even though we hadn't talked in months, he was super flirty and ended up kissing me. the next day he didn't call and when we did talk, he apologized because he said he didn't mean to do that. he also said he didn't think we should date because he wasn't in the right mind space to seriously date someone. do you think he totally disrespected me and sees me just as a booty call? what do you make of this guy?

When someone tells you something negative about themselves, you need to believe it, they are not lying. I believe him that he is not in the right mind space for dating. He is not disrespecting you but the opposite. He does not want you to get hurt by dating him. Listen to him and back off. This is the best advice for you at this time. Sounds like he needs to grow up a little and for you to move on.

Yep, he's a jerk. he doesn't want you,but he doesn't want you to move on, either. It's an ego thing. It isn't just guys who do it, either. Girls do, too. The thing is, he wants to go on and do his own thing and see other people, but he doesn't want you to do that, because it is an ego booster to know he could still have you if he wants to. It's also "good backup" to have you still holding out hope for him. That way, if he finds it hard to get another girlfriend, orhe gets lonely, he always has you to fall back on.
He's an ***. Move on, and if he tries the whole kissing flirting thing again, don't go along with it.

Seems like he's pretty honest and up front. If anyone is disprespecting you, its you. He didn't kiss you, you two kissed. He just wants to play and not have a relationship and is letting you know that, so yes, if you just wanted to have sex and play with him, he'd be game, but he thinks you are a better girl than that and is telling you right up front he is in it for the fun, not the relationship.

Was he drinking when you saw him and made out with him? Either way, yeah, he's a jerk. I wouldn't obsess over him. The right frame of mind crap is just that....crap. He's making excuses to try to cover up being an a**. Don't call him again and if you see him, ignore his flaky a**.

You really didn't have to kiss him at the party - you should just have walked away and left it at that. Wrong signals from both parties is what I feel here.
