Goldendoodles are active, intelligent, loving, hardheaded dogs. I adore both Goldens and Poodles but if allergies are an issue in your household, I'd get a pure poodle.

BTW, don't pay for a Goldendoodle. They are a mixed breed -- aka "mutt", "mongrel", "cur"
Breeders used to either throw these animals to the "free" column of the news papers OR drown (literally, it's a dirty little breeder's secret) the mixes and runts.
Now they call them "designer dogs" and charge exurbanite prices for them.

It's nothing but semantics and greed.

Since Goldendoodles are a mix not a breed there is no defiante traits..they can be more poodle or more golden or anything inbetween. They can be hyper & flighty, they can be curly, straight, long haired, shorthaired anything inbetween, they can be stubborn or they can be easy to train.
Many carry health issues such as hip & elbow dysplasia and eye problems. They also are prone to certain types of cancer and skin issues.
