I want to move out, I am a female age 16 (17 soon) living in Massachusetts. My parents would never agree to it, but I am unhappy with my current situation. I have heard about emancipation but I don't see how its possible (you need to be living on your own to be emancipated). What are my options?

I don't have the best parents in the world. Please no lectures, staying here is not an option.

Also, my parents don't qualify as legally unfit.

do you have to be livin on your own.. I live in Mississippi, an a guy i know was dating a gurl that was a Foster kid, an she didnt want to live with her foster parents anymore so she Emancipated her self so she could live with him.. I would check into that more if that is what you really want but i am tellin you from experience its not easy being on your own i moved out at 16 an im 22 now an i wish everday i would have stayed at home no matter how bad i hated it.. But if its something Bad the reason your wantin to move out then check into ways to get out

Suck it up and wait a year! Take advantage of the fact that you are being supported by your parents for as long as you can.
You are not supposed to get along with your parents all of the time.
The only exception to that advise would be if you are being abused and I think that is the only way that you could become emancipated.

Unhappy with your current situation? More info is needed...

In order to move out you need money. Unless you are being abused (in which case, notify the authorities), you should stay put and finish your education.

Well what about living with other relatives. Or you can go to the courts and file for independent living but you would have to prove that your parents are unfit parents for them to rule in your favor.
