Trust me, it's not that she doesn't trust you.

She's already lost her companion. You are the one thing(unless you have siblings) that is apart of him. Losing you would equal to losing him all over again.

My mom was the same way when I was growing up. I'll be the same way when my kids grow up.

Also as someone else mentioned, it also depends on where your planning to go. If it's going to be chaperoned let her know this(but DON'T lie about it--Mothers know EVERYTHING), give her all the info so she won't have another reason to be worried about you.

She must really love you to care this much about your safety!

You are her last child at home, of course she is being protective. It isn't that she doesn't trust your judgement further away, it is that is you are further away, it is also longer/further to return safely.

If you were in some trouble far away, she could not get there fast enough to help. It is just a comfort zone with "us parents". I feel better if my boys are close to home too, just in case.

Don't hate her, she loves you enough to keep you close. That's all it is, please understand.

Truthfully its to hard to have your parents trust you as a teen, what you need to do is sadly.... start liein to her. Tell her that your going to a friends house to spend the night and plan the hole thing that you want to do a hour or two away from home.

More info is needed. How old are you and where do you want to go and with whom? It is probably not that she doesn't trust you....it is because she loves you and wants to protect you.
