MY questions has two parts:

Do you think women will ever be ordained in the RC Church?
And..

Rather you do or don't, how do YOU pesonally feel about that and why?

I am not looking to attack or start an argument or a bashing session against the RC Church or any religion...just curious of others perspectives.

I'm not religious but my family is/was Catholic. I think eventually women will be able to be ordained but I honestly don't know if that will happen in our lifetime.

Personally, I think people should be free to do what they want and if a church wants to exclude women from a particular position than I think that's their right. If I want to start my own religion which is only led by women, than I don't want anyone coming in telling me that I have to allow men to take part too. Some people like things a certain way and if there are people that are unhappy with it, they can branch off and do it their own way. It's a Catholic issue and if the majority of Catholics want women to be ordained, then they should be ordained.

I was once told by a RC priest that a woman will NEVER be a priest. He didn't specify much only that like a president, we aren't ready for it. That's debateable in itself. (Both)
Used to be in the "olden" days of the RC church ONLY the Priest could handle the Eucharist and administer it, but I see nuns doling it all the time for the last several yrs(or more). So....maybe one day it will be so.
Persoanlly, I don't care. A person of the cloth is a person of the cloth.
The RC church used to hold all their services in Latin too, threw you out because you got divorced, etc. I DO think we will see it someday. I may not, but some will I'm sure.

God the Father chose a male child to be the Messiah of the New Covenant and final Sacrifice.

Jesus chose only special men to be His 12 Apostles.
1 Tim 3:1, 8; 5:17 Identifies roles of Bishops, presbyters (priests), and deacons. Men only.

The Catholic Church can not now or in the future ordain women to the priesthood. JPII in 1994 speaking officially from the seat of Peter. No future Pope can rescind this teaching in the future.

I do not believe women are called to this particular vocation.

Women have a unique role within our community that is NOT the same as men. Equal but not the same. I think the BVM gives a great example of her role in salvation history.

There have been rumors that one of the early popes was a woman but not openly.

I don't think they ever will ordain a woman as a priest. Nor should they. I don't think the church should change it's proceedures to be contemporary. The played with that kind of stuff in the 60's and I think it hurt the church.

Pope John Paul II wrote an encyclical in 1991 which clarified that women will never be ordained. The church recognises this as "Infalliable"; meaning no other Pope could ever change this. So, women will never be ordained in the RC Chruch.

Personally, I agree.

First Part, I think that yes, eventually woman will be ordained in the Roman Catholic Church. It may still be many years before it happens, but I think eventually it will.

Second Part, in my opinion, I don't see how it could hurt. Woman have always played major roles in the history of Christianity.

No, I don't believe that COULD ever happen, because it is Church Doctrine that says only males can be ordained. (as opposed to Church custom, which currently in our country says that priests do not marry.) While the Pope can change custom, he cannot change doctrine. Ever.
Do I personally think women should be allowed?. No, I don't. I would just seem weird. And so would married priests, so I hope that doesn't change either.

probably not and I think they should be. Women have a different POV in the confessional, they're usually better at understanding and giving advice, and for some situations, women would probably prefer to confess to another woman rather than to a man.

Hey I just figured out why there are so many pedophiles - they get horny on all the sex and naughty details they hear in the confessions.

No, never.

I'm fine with it. I believe the Church is just obeying God.
