My dog had to go to the puppy emergency room today. Puss was everywhere, and this is how this question was started.

White blood cells attack germs and try to rid the body of it with pus. It is an accumulation of diseased organisms and bodily fluid.

When a foreign body enters the skin, white blood cells rush to that place and try to fight the invader. Pus is cellular debris.
