White blood cells attack germs and try to rid the body of it with pus. It is an accumulation of diseased organisms and bodily fluid.
I had no idea who he was. I must be living in a cave somewhere, huh?

When a foreign body enters the skin, white blood cells rush to that place and try to fight the invader. Pus is cellular debris.
