I feel so bad when he eats a little chip of ice, he vomits. I don't want him to get dehydrate.

What about children's pepto? I would also give him room temp. 7-up, that is supposed to settle their stomach. If he is really bad off, try the emergency room. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon.

Keep waiting. Maybe he can get dehydrated too. If both ends are going you MUST CALL A DOCTOR. The only thing they can do is give a shot to control it. That child will dehydrate in less time then you can imagine. If you give him something by mouth then he will puke it up and you can't give it again for 4 hours and you don't even know if it had time to work. And if he has diarrhea you can't even get medicine in a suppository. Your best bet is to stop wasting time and take him to a doc or hospital. NOW! Why are you even asking people that aren't docs? This is your child for God's sake. I hope your child feels better soon. I don't mean to sound nasty but you are wasting time. Precious time.

The first concern with vomitng and diarrhea is dehydration. Ask yourself the following: 1. Is he urinating at least every 6 to 8 hours? 2. Is his mouth moist? 3. When he cries, does he cry with tears? 4. If the answers are yes, that is reassuring.
Make sure there is no blood or mucus in the stool and there is no accompanying fever.
If all these things seem within normal limits then its time to rehydrate. There is an OTC called Emetrol, it is a simple sugar and can sometimes help. Follow label directions.
Otherwise, after he vomits...nothing for about 20 minutes...then SLOW introduction to fluids, a teaspoon at a time....if that stays down, then 2 teaspooons. etc.....back off of juices, high fat foods, fatty foods etc for about three days. Lean toward carbs for the next few days. You can even follow the BRATT diet ....bananas, rice, applesauce, tea, toast.
If you cannot get hold of pedialyte...use a cup of water, 1/4 tsp salt and a "scant pinch" of baking soda to re introduce electrolytes.....be very careful...kids dehydrate amazingly quickly....seek medical care if this persists

Call the doctor and see if the doctor suggests. I like Phenergan (aka Promethazine). This comes in three forms: liquid, pill, and suppository. You could also try pepto, but it does not go down as easy and it usually comes right back up. If you go with the Phenergan, you might have to use an anti-diarrheal to help stop the diarrhea. http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100098&navAction=jump&navCount=8&id=prod1550356
I used Phenergan during two of my pregnancies. It is a wonderful drug that will also help your child rest while it works. Make sure that after your child gets better, they get lots of fluids (juice, gatoraid, popsicles, etc.). Do not force them to eat....that will happen again soon enough.
Good luck and hope that your child feels better soon!!!

pedialyte is good. Ice chips can upset the stomach. too cold. My children's dr. said if they cannot keep down water wait until the last vomit stops. give NOTHING for 2 hours. (this is if your child is just gotten sick and is not dehydrated) Then give a 1/2 to 1 tsp water room temp. every 10 min. If your child looks like he is not ready in 10 min make it 15. The Dr. said if that did not work to call back. It has always worked for us. You scould call the Dr. or advice nurse asap anyway.
the stomach needs time to relax to accept anything
also take note if your child is urinating. If not that is cause for concern also

when a child is losing fluid so rapidly, the best thing to give them is pedialyte drink or popcicles. these are made to replace the electrolytes that are lost during the vomiting and diarhea. pedialyte also makes suckers

if you can't get him to keep any of that down, take him to the ER, he needs to stay hydrated and they may have to give him an IV. even if you have no insurance, a county hospital is obligated to take all patients. if you have no money and can prove it- go to the hospital when the bill comes and ask them to forgive the bill, most of the time they will forgive most of it (some will forgive all and some will only give a discount)

Warm water, and loads of it. (The closer it is to body temperature, the less likely it is to trigger his nausea.)

He'll puke it up no doubt, but the little that remains in him will go toward fending off dehydration. You know, it's also way less unpleasant to puke up watered down internal acids than to vomit up pure stomach acid and bile.

One pedialite. Two popsicles. Flavored. What ever flavor you can find that they like the most. If he keeps up for more than 24 hours, you need to go to the docter.
