I see a lot of people respond by saying use Proactive. The problem with proactive is that is not created specifically for each persons skin type. Everyone had different skin types and conditions. The toners are not always good because they dry the skin too much. Contrary to popular demand, chocolate does not cause acne. Chocolate is an excellent antioxidant. Acne can be cause from various things - Stress, Menstrual Cycles, Hair Spray and other hair care products, excess oil production, etc. Going to a Salon or Day Spa and get a facial would help to exfoliate the skin and help to clear acne. You only want to use products that help to exfoliate your skin. Acne is caused from dead skin cells building up and clogging the pores. Oil can also do this by drying up in the cell and cause what is known as a plug. Moisturizing is good for the skin but only use a moisturizer from a salon (such as Bioelements) not from a store. Most store product are far inferior because they contain too much alcohol and far inferior products. These step will help clear your problem and keep acne at bay.

Yep. i know. chocolate definetely makes acne worse. they say it doesn't cause acne, but the chocolate industry is just trying to trick u. Sure, if u didn't have acne in the first place, it won't give u acne. Anyway, i'm on accutane, but i think that's a little too harsh since your acne doesn't sound that severe. Besides it has a huge list of side affects(including all this stuff that could make u die) If i were u i would stick to products you can just buy at the store without a prescription. Although if the acne persists for a long time, and/or gets worse, i would definetly go to the dermatologist. For now, i would recomend getting a mask(possibly one with tea tree oil) and just put it on your forehead. Try to just use organic products that u find at a local Health food or organic food/products store. My Chelle products are really good. if u have sensitive skin, try using Cetaphil as a cleanser. Also, if u wear foundation make sure it is non-comdogenetic and oil-free and the same for your moisturizer. Good Luck :)

They've found that chocolate has NOTHING to do with acne, so you can't really blame it on that. Be careful about drinking too much water. They're finding now that even 8 glasses a day is not necessary.

I found a newer product that is actually much better than ProActive...I got mine at WalMart and it cost about half as much as ProActive... it's a three step routine, and there are also other products by these people for your skin too.

You can also purchase their stuff online and you can even sign up for them to automatically send you a new batch of the stuff every couple of months...here is the website:

Chocolate doesn't cause acne. That's just something parents say so we'll eat our veggies. For general acne, try some goat's milk soap or Dove facials (they really started working for me after about 2 weeks of using them). For "individual" spots, put some toothpaste, (PASTE, not gel), on the spot and leave it there before you go to bed, (it will dry the blemish out). Use a hypo-allergenic moisturizer and apply in gentle circles. (You MUST moisturize or risk pre-mature wrinkles). Any anti-acne formula will take time before it starts to work!! Do not expect anything to work within a few days or even a week. In the mean time, dab with an ice-cube and use a green-base before covering with foundation. Wash your face thoroughly every night. Hope this helps.

I work in dermatology, so I am qualified to answer :)
food really shouldn't cause acne, they've done studies and don't prove any association, but I guess you never know. stress could cause breakouts though...
I would recommend seeing a dermatologist, or even your regular doctor for a prescription creme. if it's mainly blackheads and small white bumps, I'd recommend a retin-A type product (ie retinA micro, differin), if more red, larger bumps, pus bumps, then I'd recommend an antibiotic creme such as clindamycin. also, if it's on the forehead, it may be due to hair products, be careful not to get them on your forehead.
also, if you get dry with a product, try using it less frequently, or using a facial moisturizer.

I heard that it is just a myth about chocalate and acne but it made me break out too- so I don't know if that is true or not! The best thing I used were Noxema cleansing pads and if you have bangs for your hair try to keep your hair off of the forhead, also don you tend to sit with one of your hands on your forehead? Like holding your head while reading? Cause that is bad too, unless you wash your hands well before doing so! If you have oily hair try rinsing it with a light vinegar/water rinse for the final rinse- it destroys oil and don't worry you won't smell like vinegar it evaporates.

I don't think that the chocolate is causing the acne. You are probably stressed out which is causing you to crave the chocolate and also causing your acne problems. Try doing a little exercise or anything to relieve your stress. And your craving for the chocolate will diminish and your acne will clear up soon after also.

use clean and clear blackhead clearing scrub and after your face it dry apply clindamycin phosphate gel...it sounds like a weird gel but it helps sooo much! You might have to get a prescription for the gel. Drink lots of water and keep the chocolate to a limit. Good luck and hope this works! =)
