For the past year or so I have had some very painful and annoying scalp issues. Including painful sores, bumps and also a case of dandruff that nothing I have used has been able to cure. I have used (as instructed) T-Gel and most of the other retail products for scalp and dandruff. Nothing has helped. Now I am baffled what could be causing this to persist???

Have you tried Denorex??? That is what my fiancee uses. Also, most scalp problems are actually, believe it or not, caused by not properly rinsing the shampoo out of your hair. If you use scented shampoos and do not properly rinse your hair it will cause major problems. I recommend suave because it is very gentle or johnsons baby shampoo. Also, too much conditioner can cause a problem. Try the Denorex, refrain from using any dyes and harsh scented shampoos, and if the problem persists after about a week call a dermitoligist.

Go to the doctor (preferable a Dermatologist), it sounds more like a skin condition of some sort, rather than run of the mill dandruff and you could be making it worse with the shampoos. If it is dandruff and nothing else they have prescription shampoos that may work better.

i had similar problem . Mine was do to becoming pregnant and hormones . If your still going through puberty or are trying a new birth control that could be it . Go to a beauty supply store and ask them for tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner . That should help . also once a month strip your hair with baking soda . You do this buy mixing some in the palm of your hand with your shampoo and scrub really good . Then condition twice . Good luck and I hope you have some relief .

Do you keep your hair tightly pulled back in ponytail or bun or something like that? I had a problem such as you describe and I found that a ponytail pulled too tightly will pull the scalp and roots and cause soreness, itching and irritations. I forgot the ponytail and use a loose clip. Helped alot.
