*For the record-- Sony discontinued their plasma line more than 3 years ago.*

I'd say stick with the LG (Lucky Goldstar Corporation)
They've been around since 1958 and have been building other manufacturer's products. Since they've become the number one in cell phone sales, they decided to slap their names on the products they make, and now they're the number one electronics manufacturer in 22 countries.
Plus they invented the ATSC tuner (the digital tuners that are used by ALL HD televisions) and hold all the patents. They own a good chunk of Philip's/Magnavox, and produce one of the world's most popular LCD's.

Vizio is made from a bunch of spare parts (collected from refurbished TV's, manufacturer returns, and cheap quality parts that don't quite make it onto the market) and then assembled with cheap labor. I've heard many things about Vizio, and not one of those things is positive, or reflects positive on Costco or their company.

LG utilizes something called the XD Engine which is a specialized image processor that kicks in to give you a great picture from non-HD content, and some models even have a built in DVR. They have many inputs and generate a lot of warm colors.

This should be a no brainer: LG all the way. Plus the price isn't going to break your bank either.

I hope this helps!

If you're talking LCD TV, I'd say LG. They have been getting very good ratings.
If you're talking plasma, forget the Vizio... my neighbor's blew up. Fortunately, he was able to return it to COSTCO.
