The realisation that your soul was damned or realising that neither Heaven nor Hell existed? Which would you really rather, a lake of fire and devils with those trident things or oblivion?

oblivian exists as a metaphor, however there are hints of OUTER darkness and there is a place where there is nothing but a wasteland, there is also the verse which describes the heavens as a scroll that can be ROLLED up, my theory is that if there is anything in the scriptures that describe the "phantom zone" it would be thise verse. God takes all the souls that have shown themselves worthy and then just turns off the light to let all the left behind souls in the dark.

, the lake of fire exists all you have to do is look up in the sky and SEE the SUN!
So to answer your question I have seen several types of hell, and i have heard many, many testimonies of devils with tridents, well?, one guy actually said he was torn to pieces by those devils that met him as he was dying. He called upon the name of jesus and was given a 2nd chance.
my soul is probably damned and heaven and hell do exist. so the double negative doesnt really apply. some form of everything you listed does exist

Neither would be worse...I'll take what I'm dealt. I guess if I'm getting sent to hell, it's for a good reason. Of course, the hell I picture doesn't include fire and devils holding tridents since that doesn't seem all that bad. Now if I had to freeze the rest of eternity (since I hate the cold), I would probably suffer and start wishing for that oblivion option.

In reality there is no choice coz its upto God. At the ending of our time we will be powerless in all physical aspects. Nobody and nothing will be able to fight the guaranteed death. So why not do something worthwhile in the name of God for ourselves and others so we can reach our desired destination rather than suffer here and the hereafter.

There are people out there who dont have anything even water - help them and God will help us to stay away from any kind of hell.

By the way it would be worse to know your soul was damned more than anything coz then your f****d either way. Sorry!

Out dated concept designed to induce social control.

Our spirit either moves on to another plane towards eventual reincarnation (heaven) or clings to the material plane (hell, oblivion)

Cant say for sure but I like this belief best. Beats spending all day quoting the bible on YA thinking that anyone is taking any notice.

I believe in heaven, and that I'm going there.
I'd definitely choose that.

But if I had to choose between hell and oblivion, I'd choose oblivion. Hell is a horrible place, and being there for eternity would be more terrible than i can imagine.

Being in love is like being in heaven everyday, the worst thing about the day I die would be the realisation of the pain she would feel being left alone, and the pain I would feel knowing I would never see her again till hopefully we met in heaven.

Now I'm depressed . good question, guess its something many people avoid thinking about.

What makes you think you will know any thing at the moment of death? You must be given some moment of time.only a true nut would refuse oblivion ,facing Hell.

I am Catholic, but i have for many years realized that Heaven & Hell, are really only a state of the soul....to live Eternity in a hell state...how miserable would that be.To have your soul, in a Heaven state...at peace, full of love, for Eternity..that is Heaven!
