Isn't that one of the 10 commandments? Wait a second, I forgot, they don't believe in God's commandments written in Stone. Which he didn't trust, not even Moses to write.

Everybody who defends Catholic, I am an ex Catholic, and Yes they do worship the Statues. Look directly at them, bow down and start the prays. Sometimes the statue is touched while praying, other times directly into the statues eyes, and other times it just pretending a person is there. So foolish. As soon as I read the bible, I stopped. And repented to God for following foolish men. God is a Spirit, worship him in Spirit and in Truth. John 4:23.

Because the are pagans. And they are giving other pagans something that they can see or touch.. So none of their followers can see how badly the Catholic Church is bleed them dry of their monies while the Catholic Church continue lying to them...................................... All anyone can say is that the Catholic Church has the best religious con game working for them.. And yes they have been murdering and robbing the rich thru out history.. After all they have the best warrior priests out there. Now who can debate that true piece of recorded history.................................... And another piece of recorded history is that they even had Nazi SS Priest working for them... But all their people can remember is to bow down to some statue........................ And their followers still think that they are saved. Now that is a perfect con................................................

Do you have pictures of your loved ones?
Statues and pictures of people we love are not idols.
Statues and paintings of Jesus and the saints are just like pictures of the people we love and respect.
The King James Version of the Bible states in Exodus 20:4: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth"
Why were the Jews commanded not to make graven images? Graven images were the standard method of pagan worship. They were representations of false gods.
This is a very clear command.
However God commanded the Jews in Exodus 25:18 and 1 Chronicles 28:18–19, "And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them"
And in 1 Kings chapter 7 Solomon made bulls and other images out of precious metals.
It seems obvious that the Jews did not worship the cherubims and Solomon did not worship the bulls he had made. These images did not violate the command of God. Therefore, an image not made for worship is acceptable.
In Numbers 21:8-9, "And the LORD said to Moses, "Make a saraph and mount it on a pole, and if anyone who has been bitten looks at it, he will recover." Moses accordingly made a bronze serpent and mounted it on a pole, and whenever anyone who had been bitten by a serpent looked at the bronze serpent, he recovered."
And in John 3:14-15, Jesus says in correlation, "And just as Moses lifted up the [image of a] serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."
How can a statue of our Lord Jesus Christ dead on the cross be considered an idol to a false god? A crucifix is the message of the Gospel without words held up for all to see, a visual reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus, no different from a painting, a play, or a movie.
Catholics do not worship statues but the almighty God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
With love in Christ.

Maybe they are worshiping the statue, maybe they are worshiping the being the statue represent. They are still worshiping someone beside God. They also pray to the dead "saints" like they are something special when the Bible calls all believers saints in both the Old and the New Testaments.
They have put doctrine and tradition above God and His Word.
By the way I'm also an ex-Catholic.

Are you married? When you look at a photo of your spouse, is the love you feel for the picture or the person. Catholics understand the difference between praying to a saint and praying to a statue, just as you understand the difference between loving you spouse and loving the picture of your spouse. And Catholics Worship only God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Saints are revered, not worshiped

Catholics do not worship statues.
Statues are there to remind us of our family members we belive to be in Heaven with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. A statues is a work of art portraying a living person. It's like when you have a picture of your husband and childreen --- certainly, you don't associate a picture of your husband and childreen as actually being your husband and childreen but rather a reminder to bring joy into your heart. We are bringing joy into our hearts when we see statues of people like Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and all the Saints in Heaven --- bringing us joy to the only God within the Holy Trinity.

Ok, I am an atheist who was raised a catholic. I am not going to defend the catholic church, though I will say overall their members are a lot more intelligent than some other churches. I do want to say that your question is not one that leads to intelligent conversation. Its on the same level as "Do you still beat your wife?" If you really want some understanding of other religions try to ask questions that dont make people defensive from the start.

catholics don't worship statues. It just gives you somthing to talk to. You know, like a tombstone of a loved one. We don't just pray to Mary either. And more and more of us don't believ in the sick bastards they have up their sunday after Sunday telling us how to be good christians, while thy'er picking a child out of the congregation to molest next!
Or maybe just cover up for a priest that already has. I don't go to church anymore. Everytime I put money inot the collection plate I feel like I'm contributing to the Lawyer defence fund.
Maybe the statues are who we all need to listen to after all. Maybe the word of god is already in each of our hearts

The roman catholic 10 Commandments are NOT the same as the Protestant, Baptist, and Anabaptist version of the 10 Commandments.
The roman version removed the one mentioning the above and S T R ET C H E D another to make up the 10.
They also claim it is "just to remind us as to who we are praying to or about."

yes it is. as well as making any image of heaven or earth or underneath earth. most people take that as you can have an image just not bow down or worship it.
and they dont worship them they just bow to them and pray to them. hmmmmm?????? they also ask for forgiveness thru some guy. when the Bible says we are to go directly to our Lord and ask of him. not thru anyone.
AND God frowned upon solomon for he was worshiping idols. and as for catholics as i said they dont always worship the statutes they just bow in front of it and pray and some pray to it in the likeness of God however we are to pray to God in Spirit and truth and we dont need a statue to pray to. if you pray to a statue in place of God that i feel is wrong. catholics do a lot that most dont agree with. like as i said they also go to some guy for there sins to be forgiven. to confess them when the Bible says for us to confess our sins amongst one another they take just that part and say they are in the right however just after that it is for we confess our sins amongst one another who we have sinned against. so if i hit you. i go to you and say sorry not some guy to tell them. that person has no business it is between God the person i hit and myself. they baptize children and now so many think that sprinkling is the way. because catholics sprinkle. however first off those that are baptized are done because they know truth and have asked G6d into there life and repented. and catholics first fully submerged but to many infants drowned so they switched to sprinkle.
regardless though we all need to just pray and ask God to show us truth and understanding. and worry about ourselves and not judge others or worry about them for what they do is between them and God. we still need to share the word with everyone though.
