OK, clearly time to clear up this stupid bleating about 'double standards' once and for all...
When the late Oscar Wilde was standing in the dock listening to Edward Carson describe him as a filthy sodomite, the thought crossed his mind that if he were only saying all this about himself, it would be sort of heroic, or tragic, or at any rate a marvellous gesture. But from the mouth of a hostile barrister in a court of law where Wilde's own reputation was on trial, it was just awful and destructive. At that moment, Wilde realised that it's not what gets said that matters, it's who says it.
White people had it great for centuries. We owned and ruled the world. To a large extent, we still do. Not you and me, unfortunately, but that's our tough. In the meantime, shut up complaining about double standards and accept that the vast majority of people in the world are not white, and have legitimate grievances against us. Again, probably not most of the people you are immediately annoyed with, but that too is tough. Learn not to take it personally and we'll all get along much better.

It's like everything else in this damn country. Everything is blown out of all proportion. Some people are so sensitive, for gods sake get a grip. Soon we will have a government body that philters our conversations and opinions before we express them.
It's time this government stood up for the man in the street and put all those politically correct ?'holes in a large boat took it out to sea and sunk the bl??dy thing.

depends on the context.
but when you are on national TV and you meet a foreigner who has just arrived in your country for a show, who behaves really well and speaks much better English than you, but, because you are so thick all you can do to insult her is call her a "poppadom", than yes, it is racist.

The word itself is not racist, but associating it to someone purely because they are related by country is racist. It displays a simplistic, narrow-minded view of human beings.

It is like an English person being called a ,"chip"!
WHO CARES!!!
And why is it OK for the Asians at our local flea market, to call each other Paki's?
Are they racist, or is it like the American blacks calling each other,"ni*ger"?
OK for them to say it, but not for anyone else.
Double standards, blown all out of proportion!
