The US FDA has not set standards for "organic" seafood. However according to this one very limited test, these farmed slamon actually have substantially less PCBs and dioxins. Could this be a better alternative to "wild" salmon?

Hi Steve G - not advertising.
After an earlier question seeking a good healthy salmon recipe, some of the replies dealt with the wholesomeness of wild vs farmed salmon. So I did a little research & found the Black Pearl site.
I find it very interesting myself.

the FDA has examined farm-raised salmon and has given the green light to consumption with an advisory of 8 oz. per week. The current f-r salmon consumption is only about one-third of that amount so the government has in effect recommended increasing consumption of farmed salmon.

We have the facilities to farm fish properly these days - however the fact is that there's such a focus on volume over quality that we pump the poor creatres full of crap.. I'd eat farmed fish yes - i'd perfer to eat proper farmed fish to wild stuff.. Simply cause I feel really bad about the fish depletion.

Sorry, I am not convinced. I will eat NO species of Farmed
fish or seafood. I want only wild and natural.
