She is 8 and we have to babysit her sometimes. She screams if she doesn't get her own way. She refuses to do her homework. We caught her smoking last weekend. She is so bad no one else wants to babysit her. What should we do?

Your girlfriend should sit down and talk with her mom about her little sister. Smoking at 8 years old, refusing to do her homework, screaming when she doesn't get her own way is the sign of a very spoiled child. This girl is growing up to be a real problem and will only get worse unless her mom and dad are willing to step in and stop her. She is screaming for discipline and attention.

Tell her parents you're going to crack down on her if she continues this way, plain rice and chicken for supper, no snacks, no TV, no phone, no out of the house. Don't respond to her if she's rude. Don't give in until she has some respect. Also, explain to her that this will happen and why and what she needs to do to stop it. She's 8 for heaven's sake, her parents should be mortified and doing something about this.

Your parents need to step in and discipline her. As far as you and your gf....just talk to her like an adult. If you treat her like a child she will keep acting like one. Don't hit her or threaten her. Just say hey if you want to continue acting like a baby then go ahead but until we see you start behaving better then you can't hang out with us. Eventually she will grow out of it and realize just how immature she is behaving. I used to get on my family's nerves at that age as well.
BTW...She could be doing this because she is not feeling loved by anyone. Kids are funny sometimes and you have to try and figure out if anything is bothering them emotionally.

Your girlfriend needs to sit down and talk with her mum about her sister and her smoking.Where is the 8 year old getting the cigarettes from?You both need to be firm with her and dont make empty threats.Her mum needs to sort the girl out.

If your girlfriend is allowed to, it sounds like that little brat needs a spanking. Don't give attention to her attention-getting wants. That will only make it worse. Don't make empty threats either.

How previous are you and how previous are you? only take her out or maybe as she needs to bypass homestead only say "nice bypass homestead yet i'm no longer likely" also say on your mum "Your spoiling her and ignoring me... FAVOURITISM!" you would possibly want to get deliver on your room yet you could't take back what you stated and she or he will realize. in case you quite hate your sister only say "Emily, that is why you haven't got pals"
