my husband has tried for years, but lately we have found something that works.
equate nutrition shake plus, you get it at walmart. it has 350 calories and is lactose free so it wont hurt your stomache. did you know that 3500 calories is one pound? my husband drinks four or five a day, and eats a little extra. he has had pretty good success.
by the way, these drinks have 13 grams of protein in each, which will help you build muscle, not just flab.

I went to college and had to bulk up for football, and I found a steady diet of protein shakes (EAS products), lots of protein foods like grilled or baked chicken and fish, and a heavy dose of weightlifting. Basically, weightlifting breaks down your muscles, and eating protein following lifts builds your muscles back up bigger and stronger than before. Muscle is very heavy, so lifting and a protein-rich diet is a great way to gain good weight.
