The Disciples did keep the Sabbath before Jesus Died, Jesus Kept the Sabbath, he was without sin. They were hunger, it wasn't intentional, it wasn't a sin.

In Jesus Passover, Sunday fulfills the spiritual truth of the Jewish sabbath and announces humanity's eternal rest in God. Sunday worship fulfills the moral command of the Old Covenant.

Acts 2:42-46, 1 Cor 11:7, Heb 10:25, 1 Cor 10:11

Saint Justin 1 Apology 67 PG 6 429 and 432
We all gather on the day of the sun, for it is the first day (after the Jewish Sabbath, but also the first day) when God, separating matter from darkness, made the world; and on this same day Jesus Christ our Saviour rose from the dead.

No. These scriptures refer to witnessing. The apostles knew they would find Jews at the synagogues on the Sabbath and went there to spread the good news. According the the early church fathers, the early church met on Sunday in the synagogues so they could worship without interference.

Paul said in Corinthians that no one should be judged concerning his keeping of the Sabbath or eating meat or a Holy Day.

they sure did. In fact Jesus predicted almost forty years before hand that the city of Jerusalem would be destroyed so they were to pray their flight would not be on the Sabbath day. This was fulfilled in 70 AD so it says a lot of what day the Apostles were keeping even then. The change was not made till almost two centuries later when Constantine was in power and wanted to make the day acceptable to both the Christians and the Pagans so declared at first both days to be kept but then later it was changed to Sunday around 321 AD. All in the history books for anyone that wants to find the truth. It also states in Revelation that in the New Jerusalem, God's people will be keeping the original Sabbath day, that is the seventh day Sabbath, Saturday. So anyone that goes to Heaven will be going on the day God bless and made holy, not the day the Catholic Church tried to make in its place.

For one thing, no one says they stopped... however they did also start meeting on Sunday (the first day of the week) --Acts 20:n the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight--

Also, there are many immoralities spoken against in the New Testament that were under Jewish law, but not 1 single mention of keeping a Sabbath.. in FACT it tells us not to judge those on whether they do or not.

Col 2:16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

The Apostles didn't keep the Sabbath before Jesus died - they plucked grain on the Sabbath, in violation of the Mosaic Law. While it remained a holy day (throughout the history of the Church), they applied the reasoning that "the Sabbath is made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." Orthodox Christians still meet on Saturday evenings for Vespers, and still refer to Saturday as the "Sabbath" (Sabbato).

Yes, they were Jews. They went into the Synagogues on the Sabbaths to reach the Jews and taught on Sundays to the Gentiles. Non-Jewish Christians met on Sundays. In the very beginning they met everyday.

You are right. Most people discount that we have to keep the Ten Commandments..and even when they concede that they do not see anything wrong with them they give great anger to the commandment on the Sabbath. There is one text that applies in the future that, to me, seems to prove that all of the Ten Commandments..including the Sabbath, are to be kept today and onwards:
"He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." Revelation 22:11-14
One cannot take the Sabbath out from the Ten commandments..so if the Bible tells us we are to still follow His commandmtns, His Royal Law..then that includes the Sabbath.
I am so glad you are reading all of the texts and seeking out God's truth and not the truth that most of christianity today teaches you..however, be prepared to have most people against you..but continue beliveing Him. When I have been attacked on the Sabbath question and the Ten commandments question, I have asked them why then does Revelation say what it does ( in the text I posted to you)..if neither apply today?..Not one christian has been able to show me anything that contradicts that text..they go about using other texts..and most of those are about Moses Law..the ceremonies etc etc which were finished at the cross..NOT the Ten Commandments. May God Bless you as you continue to search for His truths.

May I first say that the Book of Acts shows the Transition from Judistic Christianity to Grace Christianity!

IF you will see that even Peters thinking changed in Acts 10 so that he could Also Minister to the Gentiles!

As the Jews always Worshiped on the Sabbath, it was the perfect opportunity to Show The FULFILLMENT OF THE SCRIPTURES IN CHRIST AS THE MESSIAH!

By the end of the Book of Acts, even the Apolostic Gifts had passed!

Paul even lost his ability to Heal as described here.

(2Timothy 4:20) Erastus abode at Corinth: = = but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.

Thanks, RR

They may have worshipped on the sabbath too!

But the Sabbath was like our Sunday... a day for discussing spiritual things, because of all the Jews that worshipped then.

That is a main reason that Paul preached on the sabbath.

Sounds like they did. Sabbath is a day of rest. It was also a day to go to synagogue and hear the Word of God.
