ok i heard their are some free programs taht u can use for your taxes is this true or is it a gimmick

It is true. If you (and your spouse if married and filing jointly) have an adjusted gross income of $52,000 or less then they qualify to electronically file their current year return for free. See the link below for more information.

Free e-filing of your federal return is sponsored by the IRS Free File Alliance. Some of the participating services allow you to file your state return for free. No credit card needed!
If you pick a service that charges for state returns, you may be able to go to your state's Dept. of Revenue and file free.

H & R Block and Turbo Tax are just two of the participants in the FFA.
Millions of taxpayers are eligible for free tax preparation.
I've used it the last 3 years.
