If you're asking for yourself, you should try to earn another language, or even try reading music. It's kinda similiar.
I was somewhat of a prodigy during those years, so learning to read came very quickly for me. But, once I took a look at Spanish or Japanese for the first time - it was super weird. Looks like scribbles.
Reading music is the same way. Looks like dots, holes, circles, scribbles.

I've been able to read since I was 3. I don't really remember not being about to. However, I have a sequencing problem (like dyslexia) and i've learned that a certain jumble of letters is a certain word, even when it doesn't look like it should be. Letters aren't that bad, but numbers, whew!
I learn other languages pretty quick, and I like decryting the jumble so I have no negative emotions with this scenario. BUT I have worked with kids who are having trouble learning to read, its scary, embarrassing, sad and frustrating for them.

No, I don't really remember these times, but if you learn a new language this would be sort of the same kind of feeling.

Yeah, just look at something in a foreign language - especially an Asian language where you won't even recognize any characters.
