Hey Airhead....you listen to ME....1 and a half months is only 6 weeks. TOO YOUNG to be taken from mom. You are a BYB. If not, prove it. Show me some bloodlines and some champions...Also, explain to me why it is ok to sell the pups at only 6 weeks old. 4 breeds huh? I'll bet you have pups year round and kennels full of unsocialized dogs in your back yard. You are exactly the type of person I'm talking about.

I come from a long line of breeders, my family has been breeding Pitbulls since the 1800's. However we no longer breed for sale, but only for bloodline preservation. We take the best of a proven bloodline, and breed it once in its lifetime, we have a waiting list of breeders who breed for the same purpose only. The pups already have homes before thy are even born. That is the only sale we do, which averages 1 every 10 years.
There are way too many homeless dogs in this world, it has become an epidemic.
I currently do Pitbull Rescue in Chicago, I don't even want to get into details on the horrifying display of neglect & abuse these dogs face. Its not just Pitbulls who suffer, but all types of dogs.
It's really hard to be a "Breeder" after seeing first hand what these dogs go through. That is why we strictly breed to preserve the true strain of our breed, The American Pitbull Terrier.

There really isn't any money in it at all. You have many expense, from prenatal thru weaning. People realize this too late, and then they realize they made a mistake. After you experience what it takes to prepare for a litter, Take care of 8-12 pups for 8wks, there really isn't much profit.

I was in the back room at the Humane Society today. There laid a pure bred mother dog with her body curled up trying to huddle her 6 newborn pups. Her fur was filthy as she laid in her own diarrhea. A neighbor reported the dog lying in a hole with puppies outside on the frozen ground. When the investigating officer arrived the owner surrendered the dog. The owner claimed the dog was messing in the house after delivering the pups. They said if they knew it was going to be this much trouble they would have never had bred her...

The dog didn't ask for this. The uneducated breeder thought she was a money maker.

It says volumes but you already know the answer to your question. I know you keep trying. I applaud your efforts and I do hope it is not in vain.
To the person below you are a byb in it for the money. You keep the pups 1 1/2 mos. yeah, get rid of them before they are too much work and it also eliminates the necessity of getting vaccinations since you get rid of them when vaccinations should be started. Really you shouldn't brag about being a byb!!!

You really make money off breeding? How? It always costs me more than I make!

Shoot, with the health checks, genetic tests for both parents, the food and supplements for the *****, everything involved with whelping itself, supplementing the pups if necessary, worming, food for the pups, shots, micro-chips, contracts, checking out the potential new parents and time, I am sure that I loose money!

**** I forgot to add, the extreme cost related to an emergency c-section incase you forgot to get the x-rays and ultrasounds done!

Liste to me. I'm a breeder of more than 4 breeds of dogs. And to all those horrible people who say we do it for money thats all lies.
We may sell the dogs and get money from it, but that doesn't mean we do it for money!! We do it to have the pleasure of another child in our house. We also have to keep the new orn pups in the house for 1 and a half months before we sell them. And you would never imagine the joy of seeing those little things running all around the house, the pleasure of nurturing them. You could never imagine anything so spectacular!! Believe me!!Thats the only intention in our hearts whenwe breed the pups.!!
I promise!!

i think of "more desirable" is interior the attention of the beholder. I heartily join the thought that it is going to no longer be fastened if it ain't broke. i think my thought that it ain't broke differs from Yahoo's concept so as that's why the replace. i'm no longer liking this teeny tiny print as i'm typing in my answser. It was once larger and greater straightforward to envision. The pop-united statescontained in the margin with directives like, "Oops! you have a misspelling!" are somewhat stressful. it extremely is like having somebody status over my shoulder on the same time as I variety. ( sigh ) replace is in no way elementary.

I breed parrots but it's all the same, if you want to make money, breed from good stock which is sought after. There is nothing wrong with breeding to make some money, as long as the animals are kept properly.

I cant imagine anyone making money. It costs a fortune.

Ok, if you insist on a number I make at least -2500.00
It costs me more after the sale of the pups than I ever make. This doesn't count my time and effort. Just the money part of it.

I think you can make money in breeding. My auntie paid more than $2,000 (USD) for her dog. There were atleast 5 other dogs in that litter. I bought my dog for $700 (USD) and there were 7 in that litter. Although there were complications with the pregnancy and they had to pay nearly $2000 (USD). Our dogs are designer breeds. People breed dogs to sell them and for pets. I think also that some of the time irresponsible dog owners dont get there dogs neutered and then they become pregnent.

I don't think people need to purposely breed their dogs because there are already enough unwanted dogs in shelters who need homes!
