The two things that are possibly bad about taking naps are that they can sort of screw up your body clock (your body may have trouble telling when it's supposed to be energized and when it's supposed to be tired), and they can make it more difficult for you to fall asleep at night. People who have difficulty falling asleep are discouraged from napping during the day.

But, for the most part, I think they're fine. I nap a lot, too, because I feel more productive in the evening/wee hours of the morning. I usually take a 3-hour afternoon nap and then sleep fewer hours at night. Either way, be sure you're getting your 8-10 hours _total_ every day.
