I have not heard or read anything on it, but i have read that there may be a small diesel engine by 2010.

That is what is said on wikipedia and other sources.. that Ford hasn't made up it's mind yet supposedly...
My guess is to see Ford introduce the world version of the ranger possibly as a small truck here in the states...

Actually, I think for Ford to boost profit, they need to bring some of the "down under" cars to america...
And for the woman with the s-10.. yes I like how they run , but the s-10/colorados have had more mechanical breakdowns than the ranger line.... (from my experience)

Ford is NOT terminating the Ranger for 2008, but they may revamp it completely as a new design. It has been an incredible sales success, especially in Canadian sales, and it dominates the compact truck market.

I have heard this rumor. I hope not. Though my 87 is old and needs some help, I love the way the Ranger drives compared to the S10. I used to have an S10. It drives like a little car. The Ranger drives much like an F series truck but with decent fuel economy.
If they are gonna kill it, I may just have to go buy a new one before they do

I think they might rename it down the line. 2008 would be too soon, if there was a new Ranger, it would have been on display at the Auto Shows by now.

Go to friendlychevy.com better made trucks. I had a Ford Ranger it was a small piece of junk.
