I find it really strange that the US won't allow women in combat roles.

Canada has more freedom.

Thanks for serving.

At the present time there is more actual general political and social and sexual freedom and equality in Canada, but Canada does not have totally protected freedom of speech - hate speech, alleged or not, can be prosecuted. Economic freedom is somewhat comparably less in Canada due to the lack of an American style interstate commerce clause in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms; it's notwithstanding clause is furthermore always a threat.

Well, yes to a certain extent.

For the majority of the last century, we had Liberal governemnts ruling the country, and because the media is about 85% owned by Liberal supporters all their liberal decisions were written up to be 'great'! And anytime our current conservative government do something, they are ridiculed by the media, and the people who think they know what's going on because they read the newspaper go 'oh...maybe next time we should elect the liberals...they do more for us.' The liberal government elected many liberal supporter to bothe the Senate and the Supreme Court, so many liberal, controversial freedoms have been passed.
Including:
~Allowing Muslim children to carry knifes to school because it is 'part of their religion' (I apologize if the religion is not correct, and for the fact that I am unaware of the spelling for the knife)
~The removal of a Christmas Tree in a Toronto Court House because 'it might offend someone'
~Gay marriage
~Bills presented in the legislature (while the liberal government was in power) to legalize small amounts of marijuana
~The fact that in some Toronto bars marijuana is openly smoked, and the police don't do anything about it
~Refugee and Immigration policies that are fairly easy to fulfill the requirements of

I think I've covered a few of our 'freedoms' (i.e. very liberal decisions) that depending on your culture you may appreciate or you may not, but in terms of these 'freedoms' we are more liberal than the united states, and lean more towards the liberal society found in some European countries, most notable the Netherlands, where prostitution, youthinasia, and marijuana are all legal. (I use the word 'freedoms' word loosely, because to me freedom is to be able to make my mind up about the things I say, and what i want to do with my life, etc. The things we are currently fighting against in the middle east-though I'm sure you are fully aware of this)
Hope this answers your question
:-)

I used to stay in Europe and that i used to get this question for all time: i understand for one...the authorities doesn't administration our media (television, radio, cyber web etc) as a lot as in different countries. i spoke of that in different countries, like France, in uncomplicated words particular non-French courses and songs were allowed to be shown/performed. We nevertheless have some censorship in spite of the undeniable fact that. yet another element is the freedom to commence any variety of organization that we pick. Ex: females lengthy previous Wild or YouTube...after all we are the land of threat LOL "the right to bare hands"- meaning we've the right to receive fireplace hands for extraordinarily own secure practices, searching etc. i understand in different countries human beings pass searching, yet you do not might want to be a qualified hunter to get a gun and this is extremely basic to get one. maximum different countries interior the international do no longer enable their electorate to own such guns for any reason by any potential. a tremendous variety of human beings debate no matter if it is a sturdy freedom or no longer. we are able to also commute to very virtually any us of a we pick, because the position some all people is compelled to receive a visa <

Definitely Canada!! I was born and raised in Montreal and have been living in the States for the last 4 years. Canada is much more liberal, more open minded when it comes to sexuality, different cultures, languages etc...

Canadians have a health care system and a Prime Minister that does not promote war or propaganda in general.

I remember one year hearing on the radio news program, that in some places during a snow storm, Americans made it illegal to drive a car on the roads. Its absurd ! We had the same big snow storm here, and no one told us we couldn't go out. If you can handle it and drive safely despite the snowstorm, then by all means, you may do so. You need to go somewhere when you need to go, you have freedom to go. No snowstorm and no one will stop you. Canada has more freedom.

I agree with "philipL". The patriot act just spies on people and Canada does not have it. We fight terrorism in a different way, and it works. I guess the US government is forcing Americans to give up more and more freedoms by passing bills with too many restrictions. It's important to be vigilant but trying to be too secure is very stressful.
