some of the money to their church but the church refused it because they said, "It was a sin to gamble" I'm not disputing the fact that it is a sin to gamble but do you feel as if they turned down a blessing from someone else.

Money is money. If it were illegally gained I could understand not taking the money. I am sure the church does not verify how all the money in the collection plate was earned each week.

I think it was the right thing to do. Gambling is an addiction to some people... it tears familys apart and ruins peoples' lives.
Accepting something won from the lottery is like endorsing gambling and saying it's right "as long as we get the money."

The devil thinks up all these vices for us to do and after we give into these things, we think it is ok. If the church you are talking about is a group trying to live their life for Christ and not for the treasures on this earth, then I think they did the right thing. God doesn't need one penny from the gambling industry.

isn't pride a sin as well? I think that it shouldn't matter to the church where the money came from. They should accept the donation and say thank you.

No, because they would lose a blessing from God. God knows where the money came from, and He will not accept sin money. He wouldn't accept sin offerings why would He accept sin money.

the couple should have given the money to a charity!!!!i wouldn't give money to a church!!i'd give some to charity and i'd find a poor person and build him a house!!!also to animal shelters!!
