It seems like she's trying to eat him! I'm not sure, but it's only my tabby that she's doing it to. She tried to mess with my other 2, but isn't successful with them. Is it because my tabby is passive and the other 2 will go back at her? Thank you for you help!

As soon as you see it happening, you need to roll the dog onto her back and keep her there until she relaxes. She is not to get up unless you want her to.

Once she calms down and rests her head, bring the cat over. If she reacts like she shouldn't, quickly grab the scruff of her neck to let her know that it's not okay.

Keep trying until the dog seems indifferent to the cat.

Edit: You can train a dog to stop almost behavior you don't want them to do. If you have a well-trained dog, it makes no difference what the cat does to her. None.

Watch your dog's tail during their interaction. If it's pointed straight up in the air, you have a dominance problem and need to retrain the animal.

It's hard to know whether its play or agression without seeing them action. The term beating up seems to imply that the dog is hurting the cat and cat doesn't like the behavior. Some dogs do have high prey drive and may attack a passive cat. If this is true, the two of them probably cannot live together safely, since prey drive in dogs is difficult to control.

Actually what might be going on is that your tabby provokes your husky. Many studies have show that cats and dogs communicate although we cant interpret their language its probably what is going on. Keep a watchful eye on your tabby the next time your husky is beating it up.

Could be either one playing or hurting but i am gonna put my
money on hurting.

My dog Titan goes after only one of my two cats.....the female is the one who gets beat up all the time. Now my other cat harley who is older then the dog and the female cat abby wont take the dogs abuse. Actually Harley chases the dog around and hisses at him.....swats at him and Harley is very protective of me and my fiance. I guess its partially the cats personality and if they mind. The dog probably wont kill the cat..... but i would distract the dog with a chew toy and tell him no when hes using the cat as one. That or squirt him with a water bottle when hes bad.... some dogs dont like that...

Huskies are prone to prey small animals. Some huskies do fine with cats, many don't. I fostered a homeless kitten for 8 weeks and it was really hard keeping him separated from my husky. All my husky wanted was a kitty treat. She almost got him one morning.

It's not something that you can train your dog to not do -- it's instinct. Just like when your husky will start digging, learn to be an escape artist, etc. It's natural for them.

Separate them. Don't risk the dog harming your cat.
