dis is really hard. i have thick hair. and i mah momma used to comb it for me...but wut u do is
1. Have a regular comb and detangler, water, hairspray, gel or oil pepared.
2. Divide your hair in half and bring one half in front of your shoulder and the other half, leave in the back.
3. Put on your spray or liquid, whatever you chose.
4. Comb from bottom to top. So, comb your ends, then comb from 2 inches higher and keep on moving up. This will remove the knots faster.
5. Repeat for the other side.
6. Then, use your hand to put it back together and put it in front of your shoulder. Then comb the ends.
7. It will now be smooth and you can do whatever hairstyle you want! :)

Want to know hairdressers' secret for removing tangles? Baby oil.
Instructions
STEP 1: Pour a small amount of baby oil onto your hands and apply to tangles. STEP 2: Rub thoroughly throughout the tangle to distribute the oil. STEP 3: Run a comb through the hair, pulling gently through the knots. STEP 4: Shampoo to clean

I'd invest in a good detangler in the future & maybe some great Hair Serum...

Conditioner helps alot.
wet you hair and shampoo it as best as you can then use a good bit of conditioner and it'll be easier and less painful to get out tangles.

WATER WILL NOT HELP!
If you add a little water to dry hair it will only make it worse.

Anyway,
once you get the tangles out, you should thin it or layer it. I keep mine layered because it tangles really badly otherwise.

By the way,
if you use expensive shampoo & conditioner go to the dollar general or somewhere like that and buy a bottle of cheap conditioner used for just when you're try to detangle it. And so far I've yet to find any type of shampoos and conditioner that will help with that type of hair so if you're using something to try to resolve it, stop wasting money.

I actual have acquaintances who've very thick wavy hair and what they do is get their hair thinned out by their hairstylist. i might unquestionably propose that for you. purely attempt to furnish your hair some TLC by utilising a deep conditioner as quickly as a week and additionally attempt blow drying your hair with a diffuser to play up your organic texture without making it poofy. And test with different styling products, which contain mousses, lotions, something.
