I think it's a great idea, just don't pressure your mom to *have* to choose anybody. Let her know that she has the option, but that she doesn't have to use it.
Valentine, I want to commend you on thinking about this like an adult and approaching it as such. Most people come on here asking questions to only hear what they want to hear. And in the wedding section, that usually ends up with "To heck with everyone else. ME ME ME ME ME!" You took what was said and really thought about it. Congrats and kudos to you. Your fiance is a lucky man and I wish you nothing but success with this wedding, and of course, in your marriage. : )

That is a great idea. I am really glad that you thought it through. This wedding is important to his mother too and it would be good for her to be able to share the experience. It was very big of you to allow his aunt and uncle to join. There should be more thoughtful people in the world like you.

I hope and pray that more ladies are as thoughtful as you. That was a great idea. My friend's sister in law is such a witch to her MIL and the whole family is divided because of her. Keep up the good work

ya it is a good idea.. the wedding is pretty much just for family anyway. getting married is for the bride and groom. this is a bit off topic, but it relates to this.. my teacher told me i could just get my diploma from high school and skip the ceramony since that part is for the parents. as for marriage.. it is for the bride and groom.. the wedding is for the family. so it is a good idea cause then everyone is happy...
hope it all works out for you

I think that this is a wonderful idea...my first marriage occurred just 2 weeks after my mom passed,...as my father had predeceased her, my family was not very well represented. I regret not having taken such steps. Good move,yes,...

Its your wedding, and I read your previous question, and it honestly sounds to me like you are just letting the future MIL have her way... if I am wrong, sorry... however, its your wedding, invite who you want to invite and don't worry about the rest of them.. I invited who I wanted to invite to mine, regardless of who everyone else wanted there, and you know what? It was a perfect day!
