The issue is the need for restriant or the possibility of Deadly Physical force. Firemen are not equiped to do either. Fire/EMS would mostly be standing by for transport in case of injuries to police or perp.

WOW! you recognize what next time he does it and the hearth branch shows up tell them to call the police. once the police come take an officer aside and clarify that you've tried each little thing, yet he wont provide up so if the officer might want to "arrest" him. it truly is all fake yet he talks his cuffs and places them on your son and than tells him that calling the hearth branch the position there is no hearth is a criminal offense (it truly is genuine) them he will position your son into the back of the vechiel andpersistent him to the station and position him in a preserving cellular. Then in about 10 minutes you bypass to the station and performance a verbal substitute with the officer and your son. He ought to in no way call 911 back (except there's a reason except for the heck of it).

If the suspect is an EDP....it's quite possible that he can set fire to the building...thats why the FD is nearby. In many jurisdictions the fire department also runs EMS services.
It's also possible that a fire can accidentally start from the weapons that the police use, such as tear gas canisters or flash-bang grenades.

If someone gets shot by this guy then they are right on the scene to give medical treatment. Also, if this guy is taken into custody and he's extremely violent he can be tethered down to the EMT cot and transported much more safely.

In most cases, fire department personnel are also trained EMT's, and are trained and equipped to deal with these situations. Part of it is maximizing a town's resources.

Manpower, to aid in building access - using a stepladder to get in a building when a door is not accessible.
I am sure there are many reason. Many cases, the firemen are EMTs and Paramedics...so they are there for medical support.
