What is the simplest way to ask someone out?

other than asking them straight to their face, be creative, not too creative tho

Write it in a note. Hand it to them and make it appear like you are leaving. Then go some place where you can see them but they won't notice. When they smile or show some sort of positive expression come over from wherever you were standing with a small smile. Hopefully they say yes
