No, they don't. "Scientist" aren't all evolutionists, and even evolutionary "scientist" don't think that. The primary thrust of the theory of human development is that humans and contemporary primates SHARED A COMMON ANCESTOR. We did not "evolve from monkeys", and claiming that the theory states we did is more or less a written confession to not having studied evolutionary theory.
Anyway, as for scientists in general, sure, they can be. A Christian who is a scientist might simply make his/her religious beliefs an exception to scientific scrutiny, or perhaps they feel they have adequate scientific and logical backing to justify their beliefs.

YES, there are a lot of Christians who
are scientists who don't believe people came from Monkeys.
I think the rest who do believe, should
all get Theology Classes while going
to college to be scientists.
My children and grandchildren know
what's up. The schools they go to
do not teach this.........JUNK.
They seriously need some JESUS.

Many Christians believe in evolution. Even the Pope does.
Many Christians are scientists. Do not judge all Christians on the basis of whether or not they believe in evolution.

Scientists can certainly be Christians.
But for those that would like to believe the earth would be more than 10,000 years old would have to take the Biblical Genesis account as Allegory or symbolism for something else.

How can you possibly believe that a group of men make the rules and then anyone that does not agree can't be a Christian. So you believe that God actually put Adam and Eve here... some people don't. Heck, even a large number of Jews (the folks that wrote the Old Testament), including rabbis, do not believe in Genesis literally; does that make the not Jewish?
The ego of the literal/fundamental Christians is just ridiculous.

Not all Christians are creationalist. Some of us believe that the 6 days of creation were thousands of year days because it coincides with fossil evidence and scripture. Peter said in 2 Peter, "A day to the Lord is as a 1,000 years and a 1,000 years as a day." It's not only possible there are many.

It is possible to be a scientist and a Christian. Christians are those individuals that believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. The life of Jesus Christ is insightful and full of mysteries. I believe that a scientist will be interested in studying such and having his own believes (believing in Jesus Christ's teachings non-dogmatic)
