I guess your best bet is to get a wide chisel, work tile by tile from one side to the other. Make sure the fold of the chisel is on the wood so as not to dig in to it.

My tile was 12x12 sections, so i removed it with a 12" wall board knife that worked perfectly. At Lowes or similiar, you should be able to get a wider tool with a longer handle to use if it's sheet vinyl. Goof off, or a similar product can dissovle adhesive and soften the tile.

To get the adhesive off, I used Goof Off, on a wood floor to remove the adhesive, it worked great. Get the gallon size at Lowes. I also bought a spray bottle to spritz it or loosen the top and spill some out. I didnt want to spill the whole gallon. Lay a rag down, saturate with goof off, let sit about 5 minutes, move rag to new section. Use a 3-4 inch razor scraper, and it comes right off. wipe the razor, scrape again. You can also use a putty knife. Keep a bucket handy for the black gooey stuff. Splash a little more goof off on a rag and wipe the floor. Move to the next section This stuff if very strong smelling, open the window, and no smoking, get the kids and pets out. It will actually take the goo out of the grainof the wood , if use use the rag with the grain.

If you warm the tile before it will soften the glue and it should come off easy, Remember I said warm it not too hot or it may catch fire.
A crow bar may not be the best tool. A wide blade scraper will work better. If you do not have one you can probably rent one. Don't go any wider than 9"

unfornatly the only way i know how is to put alot of elbow grease into it. crow bars, scrapers, if yur trying to save the wood floor beneath it be carefull with this suggestion, i also use a wide chisel. axe heads. here is one for you an electric planer.set at a low setting. use a crapy pair of knives in the machine that way when and if you do hit nail heads you dont kill a new set of knives.after doing that youll have to sand the wood floor (floor sander)if it is a hard wood floor. good luck
