Congrats on your new place! Exciting! Don't forget to get you a tool-kit together! You'll need the basic stuff like screw-drivers, a hammer, tape measure, pliers, flashlight and some assorted sized nails for hanging pictures. Get some anchors & screws for hanging your curtain rods. Light bulbs. If you do any sewing, it would be good to have a needle & thread around too for "emergencies" A couple things I don't think anyone should live without..Super-glue & Duct tape:)
Good Luck!

Don't forget your cleaning products - and less is more here. You can clean almost ANYTHING with white vinegar - cheap, clean and antiseptic. You'll want some decorative items too. Check out your local Goodwill store. You can find some great bargains but you might need to haunt them frequently until you find "just the right stuff". One word of advice - don't clutter up your space. Remember that every "what-not" you add has to be cleaned. Oh, and get yourself the thing by "Scrubbing Bubbles" that hangs in your shower to self-clean it. You just push a button and it sprays cleaner every time you shower. Will really cut down on the cleaning time that you have to do. Keep little stuff in your kitchen neat and organized with little bins or trays. Make sure you have a good can opener (you really don't need an electric one sitting out, do you?). Get some Glade Plug-Ins and some candles. Maybe a Ficus tree if you have room. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is another great tool to have on hand for cleaning - works GREAT on walls, counters, spigots, etc. I have lots of other ideas (having just moved myself) I'm catfield98@yahoo if you want to IM me for some more.

Cleaning supplies, like dish soap, floor cleaner, vacuum cleaner if you don't already have one, stain remover for clothes and carpet, broom and dust pan , trash cans, garbage bags, phone and local phone books, sterio, t.v alarm clocks, maybe a dog to keep you from getting lonely- or a cat if you work full time (less attention needed) groceries for the cupboards, toaster? That's all I can think of right now!! Good Luck and Be safe and Have fun in your new place!!

Flashlight, fire extinguisher, curtains, air purifier(it drowns out the noises of your neighbors), doormat. Good luck in your new place. Be safe...have a plan to safeguard all your windows and doors...if there's a sliding glass door you can use a broom handle and put it down on tracks so someone can't open the door
