Just curious. A percursory Googling seems to point to "no" but it's mostly from message boards and the like... not very reliable.

Hey Michael,
I usually like your answers. I was hoping that if you answered, you'd provide a link to a more official site that said why they don't take women. But not today.

No. Under United States law, women are barred from serving in any combat role. The exact list is a little long and complicated, but special forces are right up there. The exception is combat air roles. Other countries have varying degrees to which woman serve with Israel being on the opposite end of the spectrum. In Israel, woman have the right to full combat roles.

For more information contact prior service, or if you are considering joining, the Air Force has the least restrictions on women's role in combat. Hope this helps, and good luck.

There are no women in the Special Forces, however, their are alot of women that frequently have Special Forces members in them...their called "groupies". You got the Ft. Bragg groupies, Va. Beach groupies, Coronado groupies...etc. These chicks are always looking to get stung by the best of the best.

special forces is basically advanced infantry, women can not be infantry and therefore not special forces. There are some support personnel assigned to special forces, but they are not combat personnel, and my understanding is that even those are men only.

No, althought hollywood trys to say there are in the movie "Basic" there are none. Probably because of medocal reasons, women need a shower more often then a man, and men and women tend to mingle with each other, if you know what I mean in a wartime situation, they are not aloud in SF.

I hope not.

Most men are not physically qualified for the fighting required. What makes you think a woman could do it?

When it comes to war, I am a sexist. Leave fighting to the men.
