A convicted sex offender can be MANY things. He can be a pedafile who raped a 5 year old. He can be a serial rapist. He can also be a guy who foolishly had sex with his 16 year old girlfriend when he was 19 and mama put him in jail for it. Soooo, it would depend on what he was convicted of.
Pretty much anything but the dumb 19 year old with the 16 year old girlfriend scenario would be a major no-no for me.

I know most would answer with a strong NO! But I have a friend who was a convicted sex offender. When he was 18 he took his 17 year old girlfriend (who was a foster child) out of the state to see her father. He's stuck with that on his record for the rest of his life.
The majority of sex offenders are dirt bags but a few are people who make ill-informed decisions.

Hmm.. There was a man i knew one time who was a convicted sex offender. He was accused and convicted of having sex with a 17 year old girl when he was 20.He did his jail and got out.He then married the young lady he was accused of raping. It all depends on the circumstance and the validity of charges.I would have to know this person very well!!!

Well right off the bat I would say 'Hell No! That's sick!" But then if I think about it, you know there are some people that aren't really that. They were convicted wrongly. I was arrested for domestic violence against my mom's husband. But he had come after me and was going to hit me. I just got him first. It was wrong of me to hit him, but he was the one hitting and threatening. So just do some research on the person's case and decided for yourself. If you are happy with them and think that they are a good person then go for it.

No, i wouldn't date a man that has any criminal history. If i got married to someone who was convicted i'd be worried in the back of my mind if they would do it again.

Not knowingly. People lie about their past, so how would you know unless you saw him on some list somewhere? I imagine that a sex offender would be more apt to lie than most.

Not only NO, but HELL NO, I don't believe that sexual offenders can be rehabilitated. It is not a chance I would take, and not one I would want my Daughter to take.
